Geometric Obsession Bracelets

I just uploaded a new pattern to my Web site: the Geometric Obsession Bracelets (also available at Bead-Patterns.com):
The pattern includes step-by-step directions and illustrations for both bracelets. I named them "Geometric" because they were created using the triangle weave, and "Obsession" because I seem to be somewhat obsessive in using the triangle weave, or so I'm sure you must all think by now.

I'm also thinking that the bottom (second) bracelet would look interesting if you used bicone crystals instead of bugle beads but I haven't tried it yet.

Brush Dance Flex Journals on sale, 2 for $4.00

If you are a fan of Brush Dance, and heaven knows that I have given them lots of my money over the years, then you will be as thrilled as I am over their new "Flex" journal sale: two of the same design for only $4 for the pair:

Flex journals are beautiful little journals, generally around 5 by 7 inches, color soft cover with about 120 inside pages that are unlined on the left-hand page and lined on the right-hand page, perfect bound and with spot illustrations and quotes that repeat throughout the pretty pages. I find these journals perfect for keeping my "beady" notes and thoughts. They usually sell for about $10 each so this is quite a deal.

March Designer in the Spotlight

For those of you who are interested, I am the March Designer in the Spotlight at Bead-Patterns.com. Thanks, Sig and Rita!

Another new earring pattern up

I just uploaded a new pattern—the Mandala Earrings:

The pattern is also for sale at Bead-Patterns.com and Sova-Enterprises.com.

The design is sort of a strange combination of triangle weave, peyote and netting. I started by using six Delica beads for the beginning center circle (in Step 1) but felt they were too bulky. However, if you are not comfortable starting with such small beads (the pattern calls for a beginning circle of 15/0 seed beads), you can start with six Delica beads like I did here:
Using Delica beads for the initial center ring of beads does make the mandala "cup" more, though.

I also found that if you use metallic 15/0 seed beads, you may have to pull or "massage" the mandala so it hangs flat when you are finished. Just pull at the edges as if you are making a pie crust.
